Separating? Tips on Talking with Your Child

In my work with children, I am constantly reminded of how important it is to communicate and work with them in ways that align with their developmental stage. Deciding to separate with your child(ren)'s other parent is one thing, explaining that to your child is another thing. This article moves through toddlers up to teens. It explains what they understand at that stage of development, the key thoughts that may come up for them, and what to look out for.
